Help me beautify my fiddle leaf fig!

kw

I'm looking for some advice on how to prune my fiddle leaf fig to make it look a bit more lush. In the fall, it shed about 20 leaves unexpectedly. Since then I've changed the soil and added some fertilizer and monitor the soil with a moisture probe. It seems to be in OK health now, but it looks very sparse.

I'm happy with the height. However, it's got several long branches with only a few leaves at the top. Would notching along the branch fix this? If so, where? There's also a shorter branch off the base trunk that used to have ~7 leaves which all fell off. Does this mean that branch is "dead"? Should I trim it back to the base trunk (see images)?

Other pruning suggestions to improve the overall balance of the tree? Thanks!
