Well, I put up a long post earlier, but it seems to have disappeared. The long and short of it was that these two would easily survive a mild Texas winter like we've experienced this year, but things become more iffy with more extreme weather. If you can plant them sheltered by a southern-facing wall, they'd do the best (although that's one for the obvious column). As for good books, the two most popular are Passiflora: Passionflowers of the World by Torsten Ulmer and Passion Flowers by John Vanderplank. Lots of good info and pretty pics in both of them. You can look 'em up on Amazon for more details. If I may ask, where'd you find those two varieties? I've looked around here, but only found Lavender Lady and p. vitifolia.

I don't think p. Elizabeth would be more drought resistant--the Phoenicia parent doesn't have arid-climate parents. You'd be better off with a Texas native incarnata. I've found mine puts down roots much deeper than other passis, presumably for drought resistance. The native p. foetida var. gossypiifolia is a good alternative as well, as they grow wild all over south Texas (if you like pink flowers, that is). The other Texas native passis are all Decaloba types. I'm fascinated by them, but they don't have large, showy flowers, or edible fruit.

There are many who post here that are very knowledgable, to me it looks like my P. incarnata.

I tried the living wall thing with my first passiflora that has since passed away, may it rest in peace. It did wonderfully, but It was hard to keep off my blinds, lol! I am not sure what you mean by crisp, are they still green?
