Comments (17)Could you hinge them together and make a 'screen' that stands with them? If you stood it with the doors at 90 degree angles to each other, it would be a perfect backdrop for a small table and lamp, etc... They might integrate better in a room that way, as part of a 'tableau'. The 'screen' could also be moved around if wanted and small pictures hung on it still, as you had planned when they were up against the wall....See MoreAnyone using old doors or shutters for interior decor?
Comments (11)I found a shutter for our TV equipment/DVD storage closet to the right of FP. The more white part is actually tin, and both sides of the shutter is finished (has the same color and lattice work). The guys that made the TV cover (over FP) made it into a door for the closet. They added another panel at the bottom to make it the desired height and gorgeous hinges. I found a pair at a local antique store that are a close color match to the kitchen island. They just lean against the wall in the DR. You could use them to cover built-ins, scroll down in link. Turn one horizontal and add hooks along the bottom to use for coats, hats or dog leash. Use on a porch....See MoreCheap wood doors and windows for decorating interior
Comments (7)Shannon, my home would mostly fall into a craftsman style with an open floor plan in the living area. I have not seen a picture, but my idea for the doors is to take several different styles and paint dark to match my interior doors then distress. I want to hand paint the door windows with stained glass paint and use some large sturdy iron hinges to form the doors into a large room divider between my reading/sitting area and my open dining area. Hoping it will look nice against my lighter sea salt walls and still keep in line with something handcrafted. The windows on the other hand are just for various Pinterest projects, Some for hand painting stained glass Christmas decorations on (I can’t wait to move decorate my new home this year). I love crafting projects and My daughters have both asked me to make a jewelry holder out of an old window and to distress one for them to put pictures on. They love shabby chic, farmhouse, repurposed (whatever description you like to use) and I tend to be eclectic and not really like one type of anything and a little bit of everything. I just do not like a snarky know it all,but I should have reacted with more maturity. I have attached a couple photos of something similar to what my daughters want me to make but I have not seen a picture of the door project....See MoreUser
