What's become of the Test Forum?

Nothing recent? Everyone know how to do everything but me?

Personally, the test forum is now so sterile and watered down that all I can do is type words and watch them appear.

Or upload images and watch houzz butcher them down to 500px width.

Can't even play around with HTML in the HTML forum anymore.

I'm sure others have different reasons but I don't know what they are.

What a shame. It used to be so lively and fun. I'm just here trying to find out why I lost a whole post because, instead of submit or post, a couple of other choices came up. Cancel and something else. I picked something else and still got cancelled. I figured out what was happening as I posted here. Thanks for the reply, Richard. Wish it were otherwise.

Hmmmm...horse manure is horse manure :-) Even when properly composted itself, it is not exactly a balanced product but can be used as an ingredient in a composting operation that includes other ingredients. And it is not a good idea to use the uncomposted manure of virtually any ruminant on a garden that will be used to grow edible crops. Horses have rather incomplete digestive systems. They are essentially a feeding tube and what goes in comes out relatively undisturbed :-) Weed or grain seeds pass through undigested. They also do not metabolize all the nutrients well and repeated use of even composted horse manures can result in a build up of certain minerals (magnesium is the biggie) to toxic concentrations over time. They are often treated with dewormers and these too get passed through without full digestion. And since worms are good for the garden, adding worm killers in any form is a bit counterproductive. If you use horse manure, or any other ruminant manure for that matter, make sure it is hot composted before use (or at the very least, very well aged) to eliminate any pathogens and to reduce the likelihood of weeds being generated. And if given the choice, opt for cow manure first -- their more efficient digestive system will result in a better composting product.

It appears to have been posted to Computer Help. As well as The Kitchen Table When I looked in Growing Tomatoes I expected to see it but didn't. So I come back to Test Forum and don't see it there either. I restart my browser, come back to Test Forum and still don't see it. Then I go to my profile, view my activity, find it, view it, back out into the Test index and now it shows I'm not worried about it; I just find it an interesting forum glitch and would like to know (under the hood) what's causing it. :-))

Link works for me on my desktop. Looks great Pete! Thanks for the photos. I agree, there is something great about watching a tiny tree grow into something substantial. The majority of my plants started as puny mail orders. Only now have I started buying larger size plants and stretching my plant budget.

If you start a test thread in KT and don't want to clutter the forum, you can delete it within a certain time--an hour, IIRC--just ask that no comments be added. Two nights ago the HT music thread (also posted to Kitchens) wasn't loading video's, so I posted a test thread in Tests. My video loaded, so I don't know if that was just a glitch in HT & Kitchens, or if there is a difference in the Test forum. I usually delete my test threads in the Test forum, too. Speaking of testing, I'm adding a video here, to see if it's been corrected:

Yes Sandy it was "lively" wasn't it. Use to use bodyblocking when the spammers would attacked. Had the weather stickers. Learned some HTML and in general, had a good time.

I wonder if some of the group is still around (KT, luv??? Julie was her name, and others.

Bernie! How nice to hear from you! Yes Julie, luvstosharedivs, KT, Chemocurl, and Sheri (sp?) would pop in occasionally from somewhere beastly cold. You had us guessing sounds every night for a while there. That was fun.

I actually thought of you last September3. Ten years smoke free. I remember how glad you were when I quit. Good times. You take care too, Bernie.
