Thank you, PA!
Comments (6)The field of lavender we found on our first day 'out and about.' We were probably 12 miles OUTSIDE of Lancaster cuz we had to get back to camp to meet our friends for dinner. We were looking for a PYO Strawberry patch which was advertised on a small white sign with red lettering. Name of the Strawberry farm began with an "m" as I recall. It was Sunday, and the farm was closed. We just kept driving. I'd venture to guess we were slightly Northeast of Lancaster- maybe 6 miles out. I *was* using a local Lancaster Farmlands map from the campground (which was VERY useful, btw), but didn't chart our course at all. Nearby was a small covered bridge (I say near...that would be within 2 miles of the general area of the Strawberry Patch. Seems to me we were heading North (I do have a decent sense of direction), and didn't make any turns, so the field had to be on that same stretch of road on the right. Sorry I can't be of more help!...See MoreUPDATE: Theme Garden Swap, Corrected Update
Comments (90)Kim, There was a big package of seeds waiting for me when I got back into town today!!! I was out of town for a few days so I'm not sure what day it came, but WOW! I can hardly believe all of the wonderful seeds that I received. I've been looking through them and there are lot of things that I wanted and some that I didn't know that I wanted (but I want them now that I see them.) For example, I received Mexican Sage 'Limelight' for my blue and green garden. It has blue flowers with lime green calyxes. How cool is that!! So thank you everyone for sending in so many great seeds. I'm thrilled with what I got back! And a special thank you to our hostess. When I was putting together seeds to send in for this swap, I kept thinking how much work this swap would be to host. Honestly, Kim, I don't know how you did it. My brain would have turned to mush trying to keep all of those themes straight. You did an amazing job! Penny...See Moremattress topper questions
Comments (2)I bought the natural wool fleece mattress topper and aboslutely love it! My husband, who sleeps very warm, loves it, too -- year round. The brand I bought is called Snugfleece -- www.snugfleece.com I bought the thickest one -- it is not machine washable (some of the thinner ones are) -- but you can spot clean it or have it dry cleaned. I have had it for over a year and no cleaning has been necessary. If worried, I suppose you could put two sheets over it. You cannot order directly from them but their website has a list of stores and online distributors. I ordered online but cannot remember which seller -- I just checked for the best price and S&H. ALso, not every seller had all choices, I think. Just realized this might sound like a promo -- I am not connected with Snugfleece and I am not new to the Garden Web. I have even posted on this particular forum before Sleep well! ;-)...See MoreTake me out to the ballgame
Comments (3)Stephanie in TN - I grew up in the same time, and was a HUGE Big Red Machine fan. I really looked up to Johnny Bench and Pete Rose, too. Poor Pete let us down! We lived 2 hrs from Cincinnati (Portsmouth) so we only went to one game a year at Riverfront, so it was a BIG, BIG deal when my dad took my brother and I to a Reds game. My dad is a general contractor and when I was in elementary & middle school, he took my brother and I to job sites with him (while my mom worked). He always listened to the Reds On Radio w/Marty Brennaman (sp?). I have great memories of that. I went to college with Marty Brennaman's son Tom - he was a JERK! I used to think how could such a great guy like Marty have such a stuck-up snob for a son. DH and I don't make it to the Reds much any more - once or twice a year & haven't been at all this year. I do like Barry Larkin & Ken Griffy Jr, they've really brought the Reds back to some of their 70's glory. After the 1st players strike I lost interest in baseball, and if they strike again I'll never attend another game. AKGardenboy, thanks for bringing back good memories....See Morenickel_kg
