Congratulations, Christy! I've been unsuccessfully trying to get a Camelot for about 6 years now, lol! Every one I've bought has been mis-labeled but yours looks like the real thing. You absolutely did the right thing by taking the peat pot off to plant. I know they say they are biodegradable but they take decades to do so. In the mean time you have a very root bound rose that will eventually fail. You and your new camera took some great photos too!

You are so right, Mike! Internet friends are AWESOME! Thanks Sandy. I loved sharing the pictures. Camelot is a perfect butterfly habitat and certainly needs to be shared. Every time we visit we learn so much. Mike is so gracious in opening his home and garden to us. He is the perfect butterfly host! I've thought about starting a thread asking everyone to post photos of their gardens. We have so many close up photos of flowers and butterflies (of course), but we can only imagine about their gardens. Since I just began planting host and nectar plants for the butterflies last summer, I would sure love to see more mature gardens and hear the stories behind them. What made them decide to garden for the butterflies, what plants they started with, how long they've been butterfly gardening, mistakes they've made, their greatest successes, their biggest regrets, their plans for their gardens in the future, etc, etc. That would be the ultimate thread IMHO. I'm wondering about the Asiatic Lily 'Camelot'. Jung Seeds identifies it as an Asiatic Lily, but a Google search just now suggests that it may actually be an LA Hybrid Lily, instead. I have both Lollypop and Sugar Jewel Asiatic lilies, which are very nice pinks at first; but they fade into an unattractive beige color very quickly. I also have Algarve LA Hybrid lilies, which hold their color much better. Even when they do fade, they fade to a nice pastel paler pink - instead of beige. Would Camelot fade really quickly? If it does fade, would it fade to a paler pink color? Are there any other pink Asiatic lilies that don't fade really quickly to an unattractive beige color? Or do the LA Hybrids generally tend to hold their color better? Thanks, Sharon

Our house is under construction and we went with Camelot II. I like them, but they are an asphalt shingle and will never be confused for slate. We looked at Da Vinci, but they were expensive and can - sometimes - look a little "plasticky". I'll take a few photos and post them for you.
