I'm not sure how he's doing. When I came back a second time, 15 minutes later, he'd hopped off, or climbed into the shrubs.... either way, I couldn't find him. By googling, I found out pesticides don't even work on white flies because it's very difficult to cover ALL of the leaves, tops & bottoms, stems, etc, in order for the pesticide to be effective. Lady bugs or the little non-stinging wasps that lay their eggs in white flies would've been more effective. I ended up throwing out the flower pot because the pesticide didn't work, but now I know to get beneficial insects the next time white flies come calling. I felt so badly about that little frog, he looked like the Geico gecko, only in frog form.... so cute!

Pacific Chorus Frog!!! There are hundreds breeding in my ponds. Love them. We got used to the singing after the first season. Had a fish pond for years but no froggies. Built multiple small ponds for plants not fish and froggies showed up right away. They change colors slowly and can be seen in all shades between green and brown. They always have that black stripe through the eye. They will breed and stop singing and disperse into the landscape to return next spring. When the tadpoles morph they are sooooo tiny and cute. We see a few frogs throughout the year but most come only to breed. The babies are smaller than a dime. You'll get more every year as the babies come back to spawn.

My drycleaners offered a press only service (you wash and dry, they press) so I had used it for years. I recently saw an ad for a woman looking to take in (or come to you) for ironing and I've been using her every since. I love to iron I just don't have time. She does a much better job than the drycleaners but I will say the clothes aren't as stiff since they don't get that starch bath. But, she presses them with perfect creases and there is never an out of line spot on anything she presses. Having her come in and iron is about %20 more $$$ than I spent at the cleaners but for the increase in the quality of the work is worth it to me. Molly comes in one day a week and clears out a weeks laundry for two male doctors and a princess to be 11 year old girl. Only thing she doesn't do is our white coats. I've tried to do them myself at home and it is virtually impossible to do it and get a good result. Justin

Yeah, grandchildren come with automatic technology skills. This sounds like a neat system...wonder how much it costs. My husband has gotten slightly fancier with bbqing. He bought a remote thermostat ..one with a probe for the meat and one to monitor the temps in the smoker. I guess you can't say it's high tech but it helps to make some effort to know what's going on. I can tell by looking at the soil whether it's too dry, or I know if it hasn't rained much. I can't really afford to water when it dries out a little so I depend on rain. Very low tech.
