Help, I've stepped up and picked some fabric, what do you think?
Comments (13)Thanks, I like this print too. Cat, I think you're right about the scale being too big with the expensive print & that the IkEA fabric is a better scale. Staceyneil, I thought the same thing about the herringbone, I also liked that it was the inverse of dark and light. Yes I agree with the fabric will influence the picture. I have been liking the color of the floral branch picture because it adds some depth of color instead of just gray and black of the charcoal drawing. Annsch, the 2x4 tiles are marble that were disassembled from a 12"square mosaic from The Tile Shop. The original pattern was in a running bond which I considered. But I REALLY wanted to do the herringbone all over, so even though many advised me to not do it (friends & family) because of the time, I did it any way....See MorePlease help me pick curtains (and other decor tips) for my office
Comments (14)Hello! This is awesome information, thank you all so much!! ttodd - so you used fabric glue instead of sewing? Was it messy? Do you think it will hold over time? I was thinking of sewing it as I have never used the glue. charlieinnj - wow! That looks great! I'd like to try this as well. Sleek/comtempory...yes this is exactly what I am going for. Yes, the quilt wall hanging may not work! LOL! I'll have to break that to dh. Ok, about the fabric repeating exactly...I wonder if one 84" or 96" curtain panel will be enough fabric to accomplish this? This is a curtain panel that I found, not fabric. blondepegasus - yes, I will have the yellow ribbon on the curtains, the yellow in the fabric wall hangings, yellow pillows on the chair. I'm so excited to get started on these projects!! Thanks!! Elaine...See MoreHelp picking fabric for sofa ....pics inside
Comments (13)Thanks for your comments, opinions and suggestions. Love em! Now that I look at the color palette- it sure does look like I'm decorating a circus tent living room! Lol Chickadee- the dots are not really shiny but have different texture than the background. It's 69%rayon 31% polyester blend. Dots are slightly raised with a chenille-y texture. Circus-would love to do a velvet but dh has weird textural issues...reminds him of peach fuzz... Gives him the chills. Wanted to do a peacock/turquoise Or yellow sofa. But it's not in the stars ( may do a velvet chair down the line ). I posted some inspiration pics below. The dot fabric is not loosely woven but doesn't have a coating in the back like the pebbly fabric does. Les- the pebbly fabric is woven with both dark golden beige thread and off white threads and the background is the darker golden beige. The dot fabric is more of a taupy/gray Laurie - yes, the dots is a little more dressy so that would go on the English arm sofa rather than the track arm. I would want a more relaxed fabric on the track arm. Here are a couple of more pics of the fabrics. This is a side view of the dot fabric: Not shiny: just different texture: Pebbly fabric: Both fabrics: Inspiration pictures: Thanks!...See MorePlease help pick fabric for sofa.
Comments (10)Looks very good to me- but make sure you order a sample of the fabric to see color and texture (don't need any surprises). I have to say what a great site and what an incredible deal!!!! I have never seen good slipcovers at those prices- you know with details as welting etc....See Moreliasch
