The label on the plastic cup it is in said: Donkey Tail "Burrito" sedum hybrid. Thanks for letting me know that it is really called something else! Lol, it was from Lowes in the garden center. It seems like they didn't take good care of it because a lot of the leaves were wrinkled and those are the ones that fell off the easiest in the storm. There are 3 or 4 stalks in the container, only 3 inches tall at the most. Two of the stalks are very bare! The base on both is exposed by a good inch at least since the leaves fell off! The tips still have a few leaf clusters. How do I make it look less unsightly??? Do I cut off the tips that still have clusters and plant them, hoping they'll take root? And the bases that still have little leaf clusters, if I trim the top/bare stalk from it...will it grow a new stalk with leaves on it?

With G. 'Fred Ives,' I would wonder if it's a fungal issue from heavy, not well-draining, soil and/or from the plant not receiving the sun it craves. I'd guess a combination of the two. Neither of these plants are indoor plants, and that's likely at the root of the issue. When a succulent that is kept indoors is having issues, its being indoors is usually at the root of the problem; they aren't houseplants. Mr. Beans is getting straggly, also, due to inadequate light. When a plant becomes lanky, with greater distance between the leaves, that's called etiolation, and it happens in much too low of light. The distance between the leaves, on the existing growth, will not shrink with greater light, but any new growth will be improved if the plant has been moved to proper outdoor conditions. I had a couple fungal issues with 'Fred Ives' early on in my growing, back when I was naive. My soil was too dense, but part-shade wasn't helping the plant to flourish, either. It will tolerate poor, heavy soil quite a bit, but only if it's getting quite a bit of sun (so the soil would be drying out relatively quickly). It thrives in full sun and will reward you greatly for it, getting wonderful shades of purple among the blue, and its leaves will root like weeds, should you want new plants. When you put plants outside, just be sure to always slowly acclimate them from shade into sun. Putting them from shade abruptly into full sun will cause leaf burn. Nice collection and variety of succulents. The smaller pots (short pots with half height) look like they're doing quite well. For those that are growing nicely and have no problems, I don't see a problem with leaving them how they are. =) For your Sedum morganianum, I noticed it's in a different type of pot - black and glazed. While it looks very pretty, this pot won't dry out as fast as your other unglazed terra cotta pots. So even though you have the same mix, it doesn't act behave in the same way. If you want to use the same pot, I recommend changing the mix to drain better and not hold so much water (adding large perlite is an easy fix). Otherwise, a shorter terra cotta pot to match your other pots should result in a healthier plant. The problem is many of the plants aren't so large and the pots are a bit tall. With miracle gro, the bottom 1/2 to 1/3 of the pot tends to stay wet and heavy, which just doesn't let everything grow as best it can! It's a bit of a trade off of how much you want/need to do and how well your plant do. I grew my aloes and jades in soil just like Miracle Gro for years! At that time, I really had ideal growing conditions that suited the mix and they flourished for 6 years. But then I moved to a place with different growing conditions and they suffered for 2 years and nearly all died. Changed the mix significantly and now they are doing great again. Photo 1: Bottom, is your Echeveria doing okay - are the leaves soft? Photo 2: Left, I'd be careful not to water that one. Pot looks a bit big, but it looks like it's doing alright. Right side, the little Sedum rubroctinum (jelly bean) could use a bit more light! It'll stretch less and look nicer. Photo 3: Middle, did those Echeveria come like that missing a few leaves? I think that pot is too big as well. The Rhipsalis looks like it's doing alright. Right side, looks like it's doing well! Maybe a little too much watering (yellow leaves) but otherwise not a problem. Photo 4: Left, perhaps a little less water for this one too. Or did it get sunburned? I can't really tell. The Portulacaria in the same pot by the wall looks like it's growing nicely. Anyway, hope that helps!

Jeff - Depends how bright the artificial light is and how close the plants are. My office Aloe and Sans directly under a flourescent desk lamps 24 hours/day but the lights have horrible spectrum and are not good for growing. My plants there 'survive' and etiolate very slightly/slowly. At home I have a really good set of lights that are very bright and 12 hours is plenty. 20 would probably turn mine to a crisp. I prefer to keep my lights between 10-12 hours for photoperiodism.
