Ah, thanks. The last time I had one I was living in So. Cal, and it stayed out 24/7, and was happy enough to not only grow enormous, but flower. It never got cold enough to learn that they don't like it.... So, I'll find it an indoor spot. My bedroom will just have to get a little bit greener!

Thanks guys. SummerS, that's a dangerous site for me to wander about unsupervised! Luckily, their shopping is too expensive or I'd have shards time controlling my impulse to buy more plants. What a selection! Christy, that'd be awesome if your friends had enough to spare. I'm familiar with the purple/mauve variety, so it'd probably be the better one to use, but I think all wandering Jews are similar, fast-growing, easy care, so either variety would be fine. I'd just be glad to have something. The nurseries around here are also all telling me they could've hooked me up a month ago, but they've cleaned out all their delicate plants to make room for bulbs. I might try a package of coleus seeds too, just to see. I think they're only a couple dollars.

i doubt cold has anything to do with it.. you would have to get down into the 30s ... imo ... its stressed from the transplant ... one thing that usually happens with such stress.. is loss of older leaves.. and looking at yours.. it appears to all be older leaves.. the growth tips tips look fine ... water when a plant needs water.. and apparently your plant lets you know.. lol ... one thing i would do ... is google propagation of [latin name] .... and if you can root some new smaller more vigorous babes... i would eventually get rid of this old thing ... sooner or later.. old plants just get too problematic ... e.g... if thats the new pot.. that wasnt much of an up pot for that sized plant ... and you are going to be doing it again soon ... sooo.. if you can get a new one going .. what the heck ... keep in mind.. a clone.. or rooting of this specific plant.. is still the same plant.. if there is some sentimental attachment to such ... ken ps: also.. note where you removed the old leaves.. the buds there .... are already triggered ... and this thing is just going to get bigger ... that also indicates to me.. without researching it.. that this plant would easily root .... you can cut off the end.. and those buds.. will take its place ....

I've never kept one outdoors, but hearing yours are doing well, my decision to position mine on two 2' cement pedestals at the entrances of my bigger garden pathway (under 90% oak tree shade most of the day) may be a GOOD decision. Our in-ground sprinkler system doesn't hit them directly, but the down-falling spray from the nearest squirters will get a little bit of water on them every 5 days. I think they'll do well there. I'll keep an eye out and make sure they don't dry out though.
