white clover and moss
Comments (1)Moss is a symptom that more-advanced plants like grass can't do well in a location. It can be shade, water, pH or traffic compaction. Moss will keep returning until the underlying problem is corrected. Lime will not do it. Clover will not do it. Unless you're sure that shade is the only problem, a good professional soil test (not a Home Depot special) will point at the problem to correct....See MoreBokashi - white moulds vs. black or green moulds
Comments (1)I don't know anything about bokashi. But sometimes a simple internet search turns up lots of links, some helpful, some not. For instance, see info beginning w/ #16 [see below] on this page: http://www.libbysbokashi.com/#!bokashi-questions/cly4 My search used the phrase "why white bokashi mold turn black" - but no quotes. {lots more links there] 16. I can see blue/black/green mold on my waste. Is this bad? I think we probably all know that any black/green/blue mold is not a good sign! If you find these on your waste it is important to identify why this has happened to avoid a repeat. These 'bad' molds can be caused by air entering the bucket during fermentation, adding spoiled or moldy food to the bucket, not adding enough libby bran & libby chan or all 3. To check your bucket is still airtight pour in enough water to cover the tap, make sure there is no leakage around the tap area - tighten the nut or replace the rubber washer if necessary. If any water escapes then air is getting into the system....See MoreWhite Larvae (Meggots) Apear in seedling medium of compost+Peat Moss
Comments (11)Sorry, Fakhar, 2 more questions I neglected to ask... What part of the world is this, and do the larvae only show up after the trays are filled? Try filling a bucket, moisten it as you would the planting trays, then cover it so no flies can get inside. If you do this with a sample at each stage (with fresh manure, partially composted, and fully composted... also with the peat moss alone) it should help discover at what stage the infection is occurring. If the temperature of the manure is getting to optimum levels during the composting process, the eggs should be getting killed. But there are insects in some parts of the world that don't have the same habits as others, and the contamination could be happening after composting is complete. BTW... very nice looking set up you have there....See MoreShould ceiling white match my crown moulding and trim white?? HELP!
Comments (1)Yes, the easiest way is to use the same paint color on the ceiling as the trim. However, the sheen for the ceiling should be flat while trim is better in a semi-gloss...See MoreHyn Patty, Western NC Mountains (USA)
