Way at the very bottom of this page there's line of stuff that can be clicked on. The last one in one of those lines is "contact us". It will ask for your info and then there's a message box. In the message box, suggest starting with a single sentence about why you object and then copying/pasting the heading of the objectionable post so that the monitor can find it easily. My personal hot-button is spam. I've done quite a bit of this for spam. None for rants or insults or other stupid stuff which I regard as normal and to be expected. Other people have different opinions. In terms of results, I've seen some posts deleted within an hour and others ignored indefinitely. Over the years I've received a few "friendly reminders" myself.

It wouldn't turn me off as I love old houses. In fact anything I like has to be at least 90 years old. LOL. But I would factor in the cost of fixing (not replacing the steam heat) and the septic when giving a bid (Steam heat when it works is great.)

If you start a test thread in KT and don't want to clutter the forum, you can delete it within a certain time--an hour, IIRC--just ask that no comments be added. Two nights ago the HT music thread (also posted to Kitchens) wasn't loading video's, so I posted a test thread in Tests. My video loaded, so I don't know if that was just a glitch in HT & Kitchens, or if there is a difference in the Test forum. I usually delete my test threads in the Test forum, too. Speaking of testing, I'm adding a video here, to see if it's been corrected:

To make sure I understand this, if 2 people flag the same post with an "I don't like it," the post goes away? If you are the only person to flag the post with an "I don't like it," the post remains invisible from your view only, correct? My head was taken off by Artemis today when I said I was using this flag with respect to Carro's posts and perhaps Artemis was right to take my head off because of the potential for mischief using the "i don't like it" flag. What would prevent two people from having an agreement to flag every post of a certain poster? It would certainly disrupt the forum and because of that, I am surprised Houzz has a flag that works in this fashion. I am going to check all of the Carro posts that I flagged to see if they are still there. If they are still there then that means I was the only person to flag them and if they are gone, that means someone else also flagged them. I will let you know what I find out. Thanks.
