What is this yellow blooming plant dropped in my garden
Comments (5)Thank you anitamo. I was comparing a bunch of photos online and info, but the leaves seem to be a bit different. Plus it seems Corydalis lutea blooms summer and fall here in VA (according to arboretum info) and this was blooming early April? The photos can be seen in better quality and larger format at the link to my photo gallery. They're within a fenced area to protect a young redbud from the deer, so I couldn't get close to them. Had to shoot from a distance with zoom. Here is a link that might be useful: Possible Corydalis lutea ??...See Morenewly blooming yucca drops flowers
Comments (2)There are too many reasons why this plant is having problems, no room here to go into it. Its not growing in a area that is good for their health. Did you give it too much water, is in the the ground, is the room to hot, no air circulation, is the room too cold. Is it in the right mix. Is the pot large enough for the roots? Is it in a 20 gal container? These are all considerations, and their may be even more. Norma...See MoreTC Bloom Drop--Grrr!!
Comments (1)Would suggest you buy plants that are displayed for at least 36 hours at the stores room temp displayed area over the stored in a cooler display case. Nearly all plants need time to adapt to the temp changes that occur from shops to car to inside a buyers home. Buds and even more developed flowers would drop as a plants normal "kicking into survival mode"....See MoreHibiscus Bloom Drop
Comments (11)AMber, can you recall the last time you saw a flower? Or, if you went out to the hibsicus plant(s) now, what is the largest forming bud (in size) do u physcially see on the branches? We had a horrific downpour last night on Palm beach, and as I was cleaning/deadheading hibiscus this morning, I noticed many double-flowering buds still intact, and in general few aborted buds on the ground from all cultivars. This is in comparison to times when I forget a treatment and I can walk by the beds and see no open flowers and tons of buds on ground. There are a couple cultivars and plant locales that seems to putter this time of year. I know 'Smokey Mountain' and 'Magician's Hat' seems to really hate the sun this time of year, as leaves continually scald no matter how perfect the watering and fertilizing regime. Also, I know of 2 shrubs, over the past 2 years, that have managed to flower only 2 or 3 times for a couple days. Buds are forming, but regardless if i pick off yellow beds, spray with soap or orthene or use Merit drench, the success rate for flowers is about 1 every 6 months. These shrubs are getting same treatments on all levels as others around, but darn it, buds drop no matter what....See MoreAerilaya (8b-9a SouthTX)
