Strange Curl on New Plumie Leaves
Comments (7)Try an instecticidal soap or other organic pesticide and coat the leaves (including bottoms). Even if its not a bug there won't be any harm done. Maybe thrip? there is a new type that attacks the new growth of other hardy landscape plants like plumbego, ligustrium, crepe myrtles....See MoreTomato Leaf Blackening with Upward Curl
Comments (3)I know this is not about leaf spots but was the closest I could find. I have 7 week old tomatoes most about 4-5 ft. tall. I have lots of bloom. Two days ago I added Kool Bloom to them (2-45-28) Yesterday I noticed lots of new growth on the tops, the tops going all curly and winding all over.Today I notice dark spots and long black streaks on my stalks, mainly where the small stalks grow from the main stalk and on the main stalk too and the smaller stall are splitting from the main stalk.Leafs are a little soft and droopy on the tops, I'm afraid I may have O D them.I guess I'll just have to wait and see,but if anyone can give me some insight to me ,maybe before I go out and find them dead, (man that hurts to think)I could use some encouragement!!...See MoreYoung tomato plant leaves curling upward & cracking
Comments (9)I am located in northern California, just south of the Bay in San Francisco. Our weather is usually mild & fairly consistent. Temps during the day have been 75-85 give or take. The temps do have a tendency to drop quite a bit come nightfall as the coastal fog starts coming inland bringing the temps down to the low 60s, at times in the upper 50s. My soIL has a PH of about 6-6.5. I used chicken manure, some sulfur to bring down the ph, it was at 9, so had to make adjustments. I also added peat moss, as my soIL is a bit on the clay side, it held water & wasnt the best at draining. Its much much better now. I initially had the soil tested & was given recommendations as to how to improve it, I made the corrections prior to planting. The strange color that is seen is not the soil but is mulch, gorilla hair, it's shredded redwood bark. It was what was recomended to me by my local nursery. A side note; All my other tomato plants that I planted at the same time are doing great, it's just the one. I water every 2-3 days dependent on the temperatures & according to the moisture levels that I test frequently. My soIL holds onto water a bit so I'm careful at being consistent. Initially I did have aphids but have eradicated them with use of compost tea which was really effective, there has been no sign of them in almost 2 weeks. There's been no sign of any other pest at all....See MorePilea leaves puckering upward
Comments (3)If it's relevant many kinds of tropical house plants need watering to be reduced markedly during the winter. Otherwise if you can't show pictures of the puckering here try taking your plant to an independent garden center with a house plant department and asking them to look at it, make suggestions....See MoreRosie1949
