Comments (28)I wish I could post some pictures of Fescue lawns in the area now. I think opinions are equally split here because you see about half warm season grass yards and half cool season yards with water running every morning when I go to work I might add. But all things aside if you look on the Ntep.org site and hit the virginia beach location for trials you'll notice there is no cool season trials. I think the reason is clear why they don't waste money testing them here. I'd like to see them try some of the next generation blue grasses to see if they can survive here. And the reason is the same why I don't use the Virginia tech web link is because they are in zone 5. Most of Central Virginia is zone 7. Why would anyone use research for choosing plants or grass that are two to three zones different than your climate? I'd be better off checking out Flordia State University's ratings since they are zone 8 also. They are probably more 8 B....See MoreMr Ko (adenium ko)
Comments (10)Hello Everyone, Just wanted to say that 6 of the 7 grafted trees that I bought from Rinoa are growing well and have rooted . They are all pushing leaves at this time and I am happy to see them look so good. I am out of town working, but I will post some pics of these babies when I get home. I was scared to buy them barerooted in the winter, but my friends from Florida were going in on a shipment and I had to join in... ;-) The seeds from Mark D. Are all doing well and I haven't lost any during this winter. Some are hanging on, but most are doing great. I am relieved... They will all come back in full form this summer. Take care , Laura...See MorePlease post your pictures of your citrus partying outdoors. Pics.
Comments (142)My citrus have started the party out doors. Nagami kumquat in very bad shape but I believe it will live.. It is marked with the flying baseball cap. the crown marks my sweet lee tangerine tree. It was on its death bed then and is doing very well since planting there. The large tree below is my seed grown meiwa kumquat tree. In the process of moving it in and out I dropped it once and forgot to put in the spacer and burned the trunk with the light bulb. It has lost 1/3 of its leaves and shows no sign s of growth the smaller tree is a seed grown nagami kumquat. It is doing very well. 3 happy sweet lee tangerine trees from seed in bottomless gallon food tins. I had placed 3 sweetlee trees and a nagami kumquat tree in the community garden. Squirrels dug 3 sweetlee trees and the nagami up, one was replantable but died. the seed grown nagami was in critical damaged and was moved on to the roof as seen in the flying baseball cap. All four trees were very un happy not because the were grown from seed Here is a link that might be useful: http://s1094.photobucket.com/user/wreristhechimney/slideshow/Seed%20grown%20Meiwa%20kumquat%20tree...See MorePlease post pictures of your dark cabinets!
Comments (39)My 4 sons, I die for beaded inset cabinets, but I really love the bead on the edges of your overlay cabs! Really a nice detail. Angelazuill, I'd love to see a close up of your cabs. I love hickory's grain, and with a darker stain... Wow! I started out with a painted kitchen (not white). Love love love it, but I got into stripping some reuse center, beaded inset cabinets and OMG. Changed my life. Ok, just my kitchen, but it's important. I am now in love with my perfect, weathered oak finish. (Ask me. You can do it, too, without it looking like someone did a bad white wash finish.) Unfortunately, I also stripped some cherry down to chocolate brown, so I have a very different, (used to be called "mismatched" but now it's "eclectic" or "bespoke") ... environment. I also made maple butcher block counters, so what a ... variety ... of woods. :) Be warned about the Finished Kitchens blog. It'll suck you in like Pinterest and Houzz. I suggest Pinning everything in one place, though. It helps with sanity not to have to run all over to find that "one" picture....See Moreaddicted2plants Southern IL USA
