Ya mean the small finger size pickle cucumbers?I barely see any seeds of that although I did see it an asian grocery store that 1 time.Funny how they have the grocery you really want but on the days you don't have the money.

Sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate, ammonium lauryl sulfate, and ammonium laureth sulfate are all perfectly fine. There's actually a rather long list (any anionic surfactant with a very low toxicity to plant life at normal concentrations), but those four tend to hit the most often used. They're also the most powerful so you need less per ounce of dilutant (usually water, glycerin, and so on). Sodium laurel sulfate is capable of removing old oil stains from concrete floors at high concentration (you aren't using it at high concentration--very low, in fact). You might sometimes see "dodecyl" instead of "laurel." Same thing, different name. Ammonium-based surfactants have the additional advantage of not injecting any sodium into your soil, which might be slightly important if you happen to have an excess of sodium. Plus the ammonium part will eventually become plant food. Suave is great, and my go-to when I'm being lazy. The stuff has a low price per ounce and I like the apple scent on my lawn because it smells nice.

Go to the Dr. Huey page on HMF (see below). Click on Photos, and look for detail photos of a young Dr. Huey sucker, and of leaves and stipule. If they are a match, you've got a huey sucker. (Those photos were made of a sucker on my own Fourth of July, btw.) You know the drill. Dig down to where it is emerging from, and RIP it off the roots. What's the brown paper towel deal? Ages ago I made some "seed strips" by putting seeds (not carrots if I recall) between two sheets of paper towel and putting them in a plastic bag of 'fridge (warm spot) and let them sprout and then planted them. Has anybody else done this? It would be cool to make a "square paper towel" 12x12 and then just lay it in the SFG after the seeds sprouted (at least I think it would...does anybody else?? DEborah
