Trying to find a harmless bath tub under $400
Comments (71)My grandma eats sweets including homemade pies with 1-2 c sugar per pie, loves sweets in general, eats too many fried foods for my taste, doesn’t eat paint chips, bathes in a porcelain tub, and was JUST moved to a nursing facility this year since she’s losing her mobility (mind is still intact) and in another month she will be celebrating her 100th birthday. You don’t have to live in a bubble to live a long life. Much of your life expectancy is predetermined in large part by genetics. Use common sense and don’t lick the bathtub....See MorePrivacy needed beside hot tub
Comments (19)The hot tub is in its permanent location and cannot be moved and the landscape project will work around what we come up with as far as privacy for the tub as we will build off of that. We definitely will be building a lattice screen on one side so that's one resolution to the project at hand. Thinking now if there is a shrub or small tree that could be planted on the corner side as that would possibly give us a good amount of screening from roadside and neighbor. Shrub would have to be fairly narrow i.e. no more than 4 ft wide and could be at least 6 ft tall. a small tree variety would only be able to be about 8-10 ft wide and tall....See MoreNeed help in creating our backyard (hot tub) oasis!
Comments (47)Thank you @HU-257553069!!! :) By 1/3 you mean all same size slabs but all set subway tile style to every third? just trying to make sure I understand what you describe... I looked at Permacon too but the Colors were busier and not as light (the ones in the display).. I thought lighter would look nicer. There’s the Blu smooth in Beige cream too but I wasn’t too sure if there was actually too much yellow for the cream/grey/orangy/browny colour of the house. yes was thinking of adding a sectional in the top Right corner with a table and high potted planters. i Also want to add 2 lounge chairs, and a fire pit... not sure where to put everything. the hot tub will be on the left as pictured. There will be 23 feet of interlock up to the first column (from the house). After that 4 feet from the column (as it is right now). The set up is stressing me out too. Is it okay to have more than one seating area? And to have areas that do not necessarily face each other? finally, not sure if you have an idea but I was going to do a 3 post pergola over the hot tub (with a bar facing the river) but I am thinking the post near the corner sofa will be in the way (Of people in the hot tub, on the sofa or sitting at the bar). What about a half pergola (only 2 posts on the Left, facing the left neighbo)? it would give some height, some warmth with the wood and something to hang lights to. Apologies for the really long post!!...See MoreHow to deal with awkward deck configuration after removing hot tub
Comments (13)Were this mine, I'd consider building a dual purpose feature (fire pit/BBQ) since your foundation is already there. Choose the height of your raised fire brick burn pit carefully and, from the higher deck, it could be a fire pit but while you're standing on the lower deck, the added height would make it usable as a BBQ. You would, of course, need to remove the railings from around it. Edit: Or not. On a windy day, that could be dangerous....See Morefairy_toadmother
