Nor'East Closing Retail Operations
Comments (27)This is awful!! I carefully read Nor'east's prented explanation and plan for their continued wholesale operation, and I found myself wondering "What local nurseries?" There are very few here that deal with roses, let alone miniatures. Convincing them to stock the specific varieties I think I might want strikes me as highly unlikely. So.....the $100,000,000 question is "What's left for online mailorder sources for miniature?" I can think of only a few: Rosemania, Almost Heaven, Two Sisters, Heirloom, Kimbrew Walter, Whit Wells' Midsouth Roses. Others, anyone? I had just ordered 3 roses a couple weeks ago. Now I feel I have to order a few more just in case I am never again able to find them for sale. Problem is I don't have spare room in my garden. So I m trying to figure which 3 to 5 to get, and then where am I going to put them? Ack!...See MoreMy Nor'east Order Arrived! Has yours?
Comments (12)My order came yesterday, too. Two big, heavy boxes yielded 87 little pots of roses. This takes my already-out of control Ralph Moore collection to a whole new level. Ten of them were in the little liners ... not to worry, I've had those before and they do fine. (I love the description 'half banana' description.) Many of the Nor'East roses I ordered before have more than one cutting in the pot. My last order of 11 roses yielded over 20 when I repotted. This order looks to be the same. Once I separate everyone and get them repotted, I hope to be able to use the extras for trades ... hint, hint. Pink Ribbon is so cute! I'm also liking Toy Clown more than I thought I would. I was seriously bummed that I didn't receive Angel Darling, Cl. Jackie, Dian, Hoot n Holler, Jackpot, Lucky Charm, Nutshop, and Spring Song ... especially Nutshop, Dian, and Cl. Jackie. Anyone who has these willing to do a trade later? Connie...See MoreNor'East Ralph Moore Roses ... got any to trade?

Comments (3)According to the American Rose Magazine, Nor'east has two new AOE winners, Iced Raspberry and Caliente. The photo of IR is not a closeup. I have no personal experience with either, but am interestedin Caliente as its picture shows good form in a nice red. Iced Raspberry is described as: A red blend miniature with raspberry red petals and white reverse, 44-54 petals, born singly to a stem, unfurl slowly and has a light fragrance. Parentage is Jilly Jewel x unnamed seedling. Caliente is a dark red minautre with an upgright growth habit to 24" in height. It has 31 petals and a moderate raspberry fragrance. Its partentage is Ruby x Timeless. I have no growing experience for either. Suz...See Moreaveo5
