black tips on new mini leaves, yellowing leaves and 'white sticky
Comments (1)Annamaria- relax and enjoy yourself. The blacktip on leaves is normal and just pop them off. Soon new ones will grow fine. Yellow leaves are usually just done and being replaced with new ones and the white sticky stuff is just some latex leaking out. Remember, there is no place for mother hens in the plumeria world. They tend to over kill every thing and just cause problems. As long as leaves are growing everything is on the right path. Find your zen moment and leave the plant to grow. Do get an inexpensive water meter from a nursery so you know that your pot is still moist and water when it approches dry. The rest is just relax and wait. Comments (67)Dear Friends, The tree in this thread grew from a cutting I brought back from Maui about 8 years ago. I've kept it alive and reasonably well even in this relatively-cold clime, though it has been plagued, each winter, by spider mites. Due to the climate and the mites, it has only bloomed once, long ago. Then last year the branch was broken that gave rise to this thread and the things I've learned here have helped me make my plumeria a much happier plant. The result is that it is blooming! In addition, I have two cuttings, both of which are putting out new leaf spikes (though I've seen no roots yet and am following directions until I do). So I wanted to share them with you, who have done so much to help make it happen. Thanks again for your time and energy and knowledge and encouragement! If ever we should meet, I shall pour a glass of my homemade pineapple mead for you! Thanks Again and Aloha!...See MoreMysterious sticky goo in refrigerator...
Comments (65)Well, I seem to have the same problem. My refrigerator is a GE and I found this goo on my top shelf, then at the bottom behind the crisper drawers, then last week on the 2nd shelf. So I started my Sherlock Holmes work. No, I have not spilled anything, no food has leaked out of any containers either. What I did first was to tape paper towel to the back of the refrigerator wall. Then a place one on the 1st and 2nd shelves at the back. Then something told me to look up, and that is when I notice the compartment at the top of the refrigerator. I went and got my camera and started taking pictures. There I saw a Styrofoam piece that had the same brown stain on it. Then I went to the Internet for some researching. Here is an article I found that was very interesting. https://applianceparts.wordpress.com/2008/12/24/refrigerator-leaking-oil-colored-liquid/ Excert: "If your refrigerator is leaking an oily or oil-colored liquid and is not freezing or cooling properly, it’s a good chance that the substance is refrigerator oil. The oil is normally clear and odorless, but when the seal to the system is broken, oxygen can dirty the oil during the compressor burn. The dirty oil is also an indication of a damaged compressor as well. Since oxygen has somehow entered what should be a sealed system, and the compressor is shot, your best bet is to get a new refrigerator as the cost of repair might be equal to the cost of a new fridge." I have several videos on Youtube regarding my GE Refrigerator. I hope this one shows the inside of the refrigerator with all of the goo. This refrigerator also has problems with mold, condensation, keeping food cold, defrosting automatically, and it also have some white goo / putty or foam coming from the bottom. It could be melted insulation now that I think of it. Feel free to take a look. I hope this helps someone!...See MoreHelp! Rooted Plumeria is appearing sick.
Comments (3)I can't say for sure what causes buds to drop dead like that, but it's not something I would be too concerned about. I think it may be because there is so much proliferation in the plant tissue there; The plant is unable to support so much growth at once and ends up "dropping" them. Again, this is what I think is happening. I've seen it happen to all my plumerias and they still go on to continue producing tons of flowers until winter. The tacky yellow stuff is also common in some plants and doesn't seem to pose a serious issue. I can't say whats up with the black spots though....See Moreiowajojo
