sinningia aurora borealis
Comments (4)I would not only cut the long unsightly stems - and put the tips down for rooting - someway there is always somebody who wants it - I will repot it as well. 'Aurora Borealis' is a Sinningia speciosa - and even if it wants to grow indeterminantly - it usually benefits if you let the tuber rest when it slows down in a fall. On the other side - you have a gorgeous healthy plant - whatever you are doing is working. What do they say - if it ain't broke don't fix it ;-))....See MoreLinnea borealis ???????
Comments (11)Yes - look for plants from Van Berkum's Nursery in Deerfield, NH. They are small year old plants in black 2 qt square pots at many garden centers in New England. VB's is a small wholesale nusery specializing in the propagation and sale of New England woodland plants. I just planted a flat of VB linnea borealis for a client last month. Where are you in NH? I am in the Lakes Region....See MoreGranite - Aurora Borealis -Comet - Blue Fire-pics
Comments (4)Laurie, I think this scrolled off kitchens before I had a chance to reply, but if I'm repeating myself, I'm sorry. You know that "jupurana" is written on the red tape, right? I'm thus deducing that it's in the jupurana (juparana?) family. I can't tell from the pic if the streaks are black/gray or blue. I also think it looks like igloochic's sold granite (long story there), which iirc was Volcano? HTH....See MoreAurora Borealis Is looking Very Interesting...
Comments (20)Hi Dave!! i do have her in the greenhouse keeping her warm and safe from this Northeaster we are having. You guys up in Nova are probably feeling the wind and the rain from this beast!!! You are to funny about the " oh crap, summer is over". I'm sure that is the real reason they bloom more quickly inside... Seriously, it's probably because of the warmth, so I'm trying to keep this beauty warm with as much natural light as possible. Hi James!! All of those pictures are gorgeous.. I can't believe the changes in coloration from all of the different climates. I'm hoping I will see something in a three or four weeks. Here are a few pictures to show you the growth this season. She has really taken off and I would say at least 10 inches of new growth this year.. I need to stake her again... Mike.. You always make me laugh!! I'm sure the cost of space here at the beach is pricy, but considering what could be processed ... Lol. It's a good idea!! Lol.. So many great ideas.. But Lauralani? Lol. Have a great weekend!!
