Thank you all for responding. I guess I needed a little shove to do the actually thinning and cleaning out. I hear "Never can have too many plants" and "that's where they are getting their oxygen" so I was afraid to thin it. Do you think about half that much? I might as well pull it all - wash it and discard half and vaccume the tank before the Lilies get going full bore. I (like most everyone) of course want bigger! I thought somehow add an above the ground tank. I'd love filters and pumps but no electricity there until just recently. I guess I've just been lucky with that many fish this past year. Goldfinger was smaller than my little finger and I guess I thought he would just grow to the size of his tank. He's sure surprised me. But maybe I'm giving him too many peas and rice. He's my Puppy Dog you know. Like Glenda I'm constantly talking to the named ones and counting the others by color. I love them all. So far in two years I haven't had a missing fish. Only have a very small solar pump for the water"fall" trickle. When I thin the Hornwort do I just pinch it off and keep the newer growth? Does the Hornwort provide any oxygen when the sun shines or is it depleteing the oxygen? Thanks everyone for your help and encouragement! Kathy

Sorry guys its all gone for now but this stuff grows incredibly fasy and I am sure I will have more soon. I usually throw it into the woods all summer. I will post again when I have too much
