mistake to order from Brecks?
Comments (14)If you are into "Sale" prices, then you really have to mind the fine, or even invisible, print. Naturally, most places do not let you combine specials but when you look at an item that not only shows a discount but also a notation of 25% off, you would think that the ad included both. Others claim that the order will be doubled but it will not show up on the shopping cart list. This means that you have to guess if you are seeing the purchase properly least you buy something at full price instead. Also, discount codes are issued but if you apply a code to your shopping, as the button suggests, all mark downs apply to list price and then the code is applied which it actually increases your total. I spent quite a bit of money and am generally happy with the purchases but I will not be going through any of their calisthenics next time. One thing that will help is that I will be dropping that e-mail account and they will not be able to send me automatic reminders again. Once you finalize the purchase, that will be the last time you can see they prices so you need to take notes. They do not send invoices, just delivery notices and verifications....See Morepaid iris order from Breck'sBulbs never received
Comments (3)I placed an order in March with "Spring Garden" (which is what they are calling themselves now) for some spring flowers and bulbs. Their prices are expensive but with their $35.00 off coupon I thought it would be worthwhile. In April I sent an e-mail asking when my order was shipping, no response, In May. same story. however I noticed my credit card had been charged.I waited for weeks and no plants or bulbs ( again, these were spring plants that needed to be planted in the spring), I e-mailed and called and there was no response, the phone line was either busy or the mailbox was full. I saw on a number of sites a number of posts from people who had their CC charged and a couple of years later had their order delivered (I cannot imagine waiting that long) I finally had no choice but to call my CC Provider and have the charges reversed. I still have not received even the courtesy of a call to say oops or anything. This company advertises that it has been in business since 1912 but with this kind of customer service I can't see them lasting another 97 years...See MoreAnyone order from plumeria gallery before?
Comments (23)I've ordered Plumerias online or by phone, to be shipped MANY times. My personal favorites are; Jungle Jacks, Bradsbudsnblooms, Teas( sadly, they are no longer in business)Matt at one stop aloha on Ebay, and Maui Gardens. Maui Gardens prices are steep, rarely order from them anymore. JJ sends the largest, healthiest plants of any of them, but shipping is high if you have them shipped in pot but in my opinion, worth the price. You get a small tree, not a cutting. The only downside is John is busy and you will often have to wait to find out about availability, and get your order squared away. Better to call him than email him. BBnB has a lot of varieties and they are very nice to work with. Their rooted cuttings are large and often multi tipped, just make sure you call or email them first, tell them what you want and ask how many tips, size, etc. If you do that, they are great. Matt's plants are usually small, but they are very healthy and I have never lost one. He always describes how many tips, and height and you can get good deals from him on Ebay if you don't get into a bidding war early and wait until near the end of the auctions to bid. He's also very nice to deal with. Florida Colors I will buy cuttings but not rooted plants because they graft EVERYTHING that is rooted, why I don't know because it's easy to root most Plumerias in FL. I don't care for grafted unless it's absolutely necessary and can never figure out why they don't just root them....See MoreMichigan Bulb, Spring Hill Nursery & Brecks
Comments (8)This is an old thread, but...I ordered from Spring Hill last year, before I knew that this website and Garden Watch Dog existed. I actually thought they were fine...but that was also my first (and to this point, only) time ordering plants through the mail. A couple of things I ordered were missing, but I called and told them the day I received my shipment, and they sent the missing plants right out. Everything looked healthy and did just fine last summer...I ordered a passion flower vine from them and was astounded at how quickly it grew and how healthy it was. Maybe I just got lucky!...See Moreleonhardt2
