$199 6x8 Harbor Freight Greenhouse
Comments (1)Amazing the price is less than you paid six years ago. Good thing is, you'll breeze right through putting this one together. My 10x12 is about 6 years old too, replaced the roof panels not quite two years ago, will replace most of the wall panels this summer. All else is rocking along just fine. I think these are a great deal, too....See MoreMissing a part in my Harbor Freight Greenhouse
Comments (2)First, I'd raise a huge ruckus with Harbor Freight, on the phone, and be very aggressive as needed. I would not wait very long to get a call back from them; I'd keep calling. Harbor Freight customer service, unless they have improved in recent years, is not known for outstanding response time. Try to insist on immediate shipment of the missing part, and ask them to email you the tracking number, so you know it has been shipped. If they hem and haw about this, and can't give you a promise of fast shipping, and tracking, it may be a bad sign that this part is not one that they normally stock in their US warehouses. If the part is not in stock for immediate shipping (like, panel clips and panels, which they keep on hand) it could mean a very long delay. It used to mean (years ago) that they would tell you they'd ship it in a few weeks...and six months later, people were still waiting for a missing part. Maybe they have improved their track record on this point. Since the kit is assembled in China, I always assumed these long delays meant the part had to be shipped from China, but I'm not sure they'll be honest with you about it. If they can't ship pretty quickly and give you a tracking number, I'd start to be a little worried. Did you buy the kit in a store, or order online? I recall one post from a person who bought their kit in a Harbor Freight store. When they found it was missing a piece, the store manager (astonishingly) opened up another kit to replace the missing piece. I frankly think this was an exceptional store manager, so I'm just mentioning it as a long shot. If you don't get good response from Harbor Freight, please post back, and I'll try to help you brainstorm how you could temporary a piece (out of wood, or something else) so you could complete your greenhouse, and add the piece later. I just checked my own greenhouse, and I think it might be possible to do this, since part 23 is only about 1' 5" long, and its main function is to provide a track on both sides to accept two of the gable poly panels, that go above the door. Of course, it would be much better if they can send you the correct piece, so my first response is to be as proactive as you can (go ahead, yell a little, be assertive.) Don't assume they will take good care of you just because they should. Could be worse...could be late October, with snow moving in...or, it could be a completely critical piece that would stop your build completely. Please do let us know what they say. Comments (1)Hello Fespo, I think you're right on track with your comments about reading. Lots of good posts here from helpful Harbor Freight owners, including older archived posts too (although the manual and a few parts have changed, recently.) If it helps, here is my blog with ideas mostly gathered from GardenWeb members in the past: Building our Harbor Freight 10x12 Greenhouse I need to make time to update my blog to reflect some of the recent changes to the kit, but we basically believe it's really important to make a few modifications to the kit for strength, and to secure the panels against loss in high winds. Our HF greenhouse has been up for 6 years now, with no damage or panel loss. Even though you won't build until fall, you might want to check the parts against the parts list in the back of the manual. Recently someone posted here that their kit was missing a part (it happens.) If it's missing a part, your store might exchange the kit for you, if you find the problem quickly. Certain replacement parts used to take a very long time for Harbor Freight to ship (months) so this is just a friendly heads up. Good luck with your build!...See MoreConnecting 2 8x10 harbor freight greenhouses
Comments (5)Hi Terri, here's a thread showing funnylady's photos of her two 10x12 HFGHs joined together: Two HFGH 10x12 Greenhouses Joined Together Also, rosepedal has joined two of them together, and there are some photos at the end of this thread showing the new one being added to the back of her existing greenhouse: We're Going Saturday rosepedal (Barb) may have posted more recent pics somewhere, and I may have missed or forgotten them (been helping my Mom get through several hospital adventures this summer, and I have fewer brain cells lately!) Here is a link to some photos that milwdave posted of his two HFGHs, joined end to end. I believe his are the 6x8 size, if I remember right. Greenhouse Construction No room to add another one on to mine, but I wish I could. Hope this helps a bit! Sheri...See Morericksindoorgarden
