What is the best cement mix to make concrete statues etc
Comments (14)Goodearth: Thank you..we really have fun dreaming up things to create. Eye's of Truth was our first try..My idea and Husband built it. It has since fallen and broken apart. Need to redo her. More detail this time. Not sure what knocked her over...large animal maybe. She was very heavy. Size is life size. 6' on the statues. As far as how we got them to look old..we stained them with oil stain..walnut. Then I used just acrylic paint to give it a moss effect. It stays on the oil stain believe it our not. Fades with age. All of these thing have been out there since 98-99 best I remember....See Morecement statues
Comments (6)They were outside for years. Have had them in garage for a couple of years, looks like they have "large pores". Should I put them on a heat vent to be sure they are dry all the way through? Guess I also seal the bottom if I am sure there is no moisture in there, right?...See MoreRepair or replace John Deere 14SB
Comments (34)Re the transmission in the 14SE/SB I just got given one for free, and was not too impressed but then I noticed the Kawasaki engine (wow!) and decided that it was worth fixing. My 14 SE had a completely seized up transmission and 3 broken cables. Only the blade clutch cable was working...but it's really the only one you need. The throttle mech still works fine with no cables. You can just remove and throw away the speed control and throttle control, cut off the belt drive, remove and discard the transmission and still have a very nice, MUCH easier to push commercial mower when you are done. About an hour's work in all. Pull off the electric starter too while you are at it and then you have a nice lightweight, uncomplicated commercial mower that has far fewer parts to maintain....See MoreCement Repair
Comments (1)I've repaired a number of statues, broken fountains, etc. there is a product called 'Gorilla Glue'. It's available at Home Depot, etc. ($5) Buy the smallest size (a bit goes a long ways) and don't use too much as it expands. It can go on wet surfaces and is incredibly strong. Re your bird bath. If there are sizeable cracks, use a mortar mix ($6 bag) and apply a thin 1/4" light coat. 'If' the color isn't quite right then add a bit of color...the building stores have additives). There's also cement like products available for repairing basement leaks. These work fine. The ones you need to add water to are usually better than the ones that come ready for use. It's surprising how many fountains and pumps have been left unused in backyards for years. I buy them up for a few dollars and most fix up in a jiffy....See Morejlily
