ceramic molds
Comments (2)They can be used if you put 5-6 layers of shellac on them and use a real good release agent. They will only last for 1-3 pourings. I had some cause they were free but even then they were a pain to use. Its hard to pack your material in there good and they dont last long. I was able to get a totem, owl and a couple planters out of mine before they fell apart. Good luck Carey...See MoreAre shower niches hard to keep clean? Ceramic crown molding shelf
Comments (5)I second Bill's advice above. Ideally, a solid stone shelf is the way to go. We have this in our master bath and love it. We had it placed about 1' to the right of hte main shower spray to minimize the amount of water that could wash into it. With that being said, our kids' baths have niches with 4x4 tile as the shelf and we have had no issues. But I also attribute that to using the little clear flexible soap holders with the little tines on them to keep the soap off the tile & placing the niches on the back wall of the tub (farthest away from the water) to minimize the amount of water that gets into the niche in the first place. I much prefer a niche when you have the option of doing one over those racks that go over the shower arm/attach with suction cups to the wall or having the ceramic soap dish/shelf that protrudes from the wall. Hope this helps!...See Moredid you use the same white on your crown molding and ceiling?
Comments (7)I'm with funcolors...ceiling white is an abomination! In most rooms, an untinted white ceiling sits there over your head like a piece of posterboard, and makes you feel as though you were in a shoebox with the lid on. In our previous house, I used a nice warm gray in our library, which had substantial crown and cabinetry in cream, and I painted the ceiling a very pale peachy pink. Not noticeable unless you looked at it, but it warmed the whole business up considerably. And I used eggshell finish, because I wanted a very subtle sheen in that room. Whenever the ceiling surface is in very good condition, I prefer eggshell...but it will make textures and flaws more noticeable. Rooms with high ceilings and no crown look wonderful with the ceilings painted the same color as the walls (the height of the ceiling mitigates the flop angle). Pale pale blue can look lovely with camel colors. Green, I think, is always a little weird, because the sky is almost never green (unless you're about to take an unscheduled trip to Oz...). With green walls, a very subtle pale gold tint is nice. And if a white ceiling is desired, matching the trim color is the way to go. I usually choose cream ceilings with red or terracotta walls, because red is very reflective and will tint the ceiling with reflected light, and the yellow in the cream keeps it nice and warm....See MoreCan the soap mold be used for ice-cream?
Comments (3)I think that is a good idea. You might also want to try some silicone molds. They are more flexible, so it would be easier to pop the ice cream out....See Morebrighteyes
