color blackberry blossoms

I am most interested in the color of blossoms of the following blackberries.

Rosborough, Kiowa, and Chickasaw thorny ,and Ouachita (supposed to be pink? )

Natchez, Apache, and Arapaho thornless.

I was told by one nursery that sold them to me that either chickasaw or rosborough were supposed to be pink, the other white but all the plants they

sent had white flowers.

Kiowa, Apache and Navajo are all white.
I've never seen a blackberry with pink blossoms, although there may be traces of pink in the immature blossoms, but I can't remember. Definitely not pink when open for business.

The following two images are of the same variety of blackberry (triple crown) on the same date and location.
Blossom color may not be the best blackberry identifier.

From my experience, initially they are pink and then turn white once they are in full bloom.

butterflylion: If you have a blackberry variety blooming now, in early April, it is a truly unique type of blackberry and one that I have never heard of. Either that or zone 7b Georgia is a lot warmer than I thought. Here in Northern Virginia, my blackberries bloom toward the end of May. There is no precise temperature at which you will lose your blossoms, since it also depends on cloudcover, humdity, winds, and duration of the low temperature. Diane I grew beautiful plants in water PH 7-7.8. I think this would only be a problem if the PH of the water is at least 8 or below 5.5. I am conducting experiments with PH soil meters and PH water strips. I know my plant's blossoms turned white, then purple from an original blue. The new blossoms are waxy but I would have micronutrient lockout from high PH. Maybe same problem, maybe not. I am researching. I will post results in a week or so. I think any water that is under total dissolved solids 500 ppm, which mine is, doesn't need a filter. As you noted, simple may be preferable to fancy when it comes to fiddling with soils, water ph and such I have killed more than one plant with kindness. Fertilizer burn is also a suspect.

Thanks, PHJ! I never knew that. I just noticed that some blossoms at the same stage of flowering were different colors. I never had much success with beans in Oklahoma so getting to see & compare this many healthy beans is cool, new territory for me. Diane

i can almost guarantee that rosborough flowers are lavendar, but can't quite 100% guarantee it yet
