Please help...I'm pulling my hair out over these bathrooms
Comments (21)for some reason, i stopped getting emails about the follow-ups. thank you so much for the ideas everyone. gmp3- i didn't even think about gray with green!! i love that print. i have dorian gray in the living room and hall so it would def be easier to continue the gray into the bathroom. would it be too dark? there is no window. I also have revere pewter in another bedroom so I can use the left over. I was planning on using revere pewter in the yellow bathroom. we decided on this tile for the kitchen and hall: 'canyon expresso' from lowes, would this work as well? I'd love to be able to use all the stuff we already have as it would really help us on the cost and labor. i love that vanity, and i can't find it. please send me a link. thanks again....See Morestill pulling my hair over backsplash... Help please!
Comments (18)Thank you for all your comments. :) Boxer, we had the backsplash included in the contract with our contractor so we sort of have to do it together... If we were more experienced with remodeling, we would not have done it the way we set it up but... oh, well... Leslie and jdcl, I like your suggestions. I have been actually looking at either taupe tiles and gray tiles. There ARE so may shades of these tiles that actually have been rather confusing for me but your mentioning these olors sort of assures me! Cinlyklein... now... what is a kitchen shrine? Maybe something that I should do a search for? pdxkit, We paid $3315 for what came out to be 67 sqft of the area. The island is about 52" x 36" (39" x 24" cabinet and 12" overhang on two sides). I have replied to your email about the price detail on our granite, too. Hope that helps!...See Morepulling out my hair. very pale beige, ideally SW?
Comments (36)I so appreciate everyone's comments. I went last week and got multiple chips of the same colors, taped them together (so my sample spot is a whopping 4" long instead of 1x1, but still, every little bit helps). Jagl, that Maison Blanche color is really lovely, and so is China Doll, which is quite close to it. But in the end I'm guessing we'll do Moderate White, which is a white with lots of tan in it. Marys1000, thanks for the tip about that brochure full of off-whites -- that's how I found the Moderate White. And I'm liking Sand for my kitchen and DR, so perhaps I'm close to making a decision. I think I'll live with it for a few days. Randita, thanks for the help with the finishes! I've heard good things about the Cashmere paint, but my boys (and husband!) are capable of marking up walls in places where you wouldn't think any marks would get, so I should probably go with eggshell for the bedroom. Much appreciated. You guys are great. Thanks for the input and the pics. I'll post again when I finally make my mind up!...See MorePlease help with layout, pulling hair out.
Comments (34)Yes Macswim that's soapstone. I don't know the name of it, just some scrapes that I cobbled together to make my beloved, fantastic sinked vanity/counter, and tub cabinet counter. The only piece that was greater than 13" wide, was the bottom of the sink, and that pieces was about 20x30". My sink is 18x18" outer dimension, square. The counter that shows in the bathtub pic, is actually 2, 12-13" strips, epoxied together to make the counter which is 22" wide and about 32" deep (front of cabinet to the rear). Soapstone is incredibly easy to work, if you are at all handy, and have the time and inclination....See Morezazfuzzroc
