What color floor registers/heating grates for natural oak floor
Comments (9)I just put in an oak floor and had the register problem too. I use magnetic air deflectors, so it was easier to stick with the metal register covers. My oak has a light stain on it called "Butterscotch". It's not quite the same as the natural but it's very close. I sprayed the registers with Rustoleum Ultra Cover 2x in Khaki. I'll try to get a picture for you tomorrow. I think the registers blend into the floor nicely. If the paint does not hold up I'll get the oak covers and glue on something for the magnets to stick to, but I've painted other metal registers in the house and so far they are all holding up fine....See MoreWhat wall color above existing-wall tile and what color flooring
Comments (25)I hate to see people spend money to replace what is the ;eat offensive issue. If you love that pink good for you but IMO it is horrible . I would like to hesr form the OP He wants to replace the flooring for god's sake how can that be done without dealing with the rest. IMO the floor is the only thing worth keeping. I need to understand what his plan is . I respect that people can't afford big changes but flooring is abig change to wnat ot do with a ton of really dated stuff. As usual your opinion is just YOUR OPINION. And in this case YOUR OPINION was not asked for! The OP asked what to do with the floors and walls. Pal came up with the same solution I would have suggested. And just because YOU DON"T LIKE IT, doesn't mean other people agree with you....See Morewhat color flooring with SW ivory lace walls

Comments (25)I think you need to bring the cabinets to the ceiling. They look squatty and undercuts the bold look that doing a dark kitchen brings. I also think the countertops are too busy. In your second post the first photo feels way too cool and is lacking in warmer elements. I keep gravitating towards the first photo in your original post. Was that your inspo pic? It is stunning. Notice how The dark wood still adds warmth as does the gold veining in the countertops. However everything is still very muted and understated. I think a dark kitchen is a very bold design choice (I am a huge fan) but you may need to hire a pro designer on this. Houzz is a good start, but in-person expertise would be more than worth it....See MoreLeslie Tugman
