Need your opinion about half moon window
Comments (17)The 'half moon' (as you describe it) window is completely inappropriate for your home. Yes it dates it right to the 1990's - and not in a good way. I would do a rectangular transom window, properly installed, if you are looking for more light. Also, as promised by others above, remove the shutters on the double windows. The windows are too large and your shutters too small to look functional. https://www.lifeofanarchitect.com/residential-architecture-101-shutters/ Take the time to study windows, doors, shutters and a little bit of architecture before you add this master bedroom addition. Ask your architect questions. http://www.oldhouseguy.com/...See MoreNeed opinions on window treatments for new windows
Comments (8)The more shades the more options you have for light/privacy control. I would recommend 4. Woven woods do create a lot of stack when up. So you lose much of your window. EcoSmart Cellular Shades, are energy efficient, low profile(when not in use, you BARELY see them) Below are shades paired with drapery, which can soften the look. The drapery can be stationary panels instead of full operational drapery, which could be difficult with your sofa....See MoreI need people’s opinion on window shutters
Comments (6)Navy blue would be great with your existing colors. Door also navy, or staying in the deep red family (I can't quite tell what color it is currently)? For shutter style, I like either the louvered, or board and batten. Board and batten looks a tiny bit more rustic. I don't like the raised panel style, it has too many unnecessary square decorative elements....See MoreOpinions needed on window grid pattern for living room wall of windows
Comments (13)We had replaced all but that "room" of windows with white vinyl. My husband and I couldn't agree at the time, with what to do with them. He wanted to use wood look vinyl. White vinyl is sort of our compromise as I feel like it's better to not match at all, than have it be close, but not quite. Is far as why not add a door, I guess because we usually have furniture in front of the windows and there is a door just to the right of those windows, in the kitchen, so another exit seems redundant. The room is such that furniture really needs to be by those windows, or there isn't a place for it, otherwise....See Morechispa
