Erikanh~Is your hood installed? Unwrapped?
Comments (63)Tina, did you read viva99's thread where she discusses doing 3 or 4 bands on her MA hood? I'm linking below. I really think either 3 or 4 would look fine. I also don't think you would miss the rivets at all if you decide not to get them. There are photos of MA hoods without rivets in that same thread. I believe the front lip on my hood is called polished stainless steel. It's very shiny. The bands are the same material. I love the pot rails, and I believe they were an extra $100 or so. I'll look for the paperwork and let you know if it was much more. They're purely decorative, I don't hang anything on them. I have the 1200 cfm internal blower. The vast majority of the time I use it on the lowest setting and it does a fantastic job of sucking everything straight up. On that lowest setting, I don't find it loud. On the highest setting, which I've only had to use once when my DD burnt something, is much louder as would be expected. I have a very short duct run straight out the wall to the outside. kpaquette, the SGG movie was my inspiration for that rug. =) We don't wear shoes in the house which probably helps keep that rug in the family room clean. I haven't had it long enough to say how it will hold up in the long run. I did have to spot clean it once so far when we had some little visitors who tracked in mud. I used a foam rug cleaner which got the spots right out. I was thinking about Scotch Guarding it but couldn't find the Scotch Guard for rugs at my WalMart. Here is a link that might be useful: Range hood aesthetics...See MoreWhich hopelessly trendy kitchen chair?
Comments (80)Oh, mtn I agree completely--- that's almost exactly what I said to our ID when he sent me to the tk collections site for kitchen chairs. Luckily my mother came up with 4 French ladderbacks and I filled in with parsons chairs at the ends. But I spent a good deal of time playing with the weaves and colors--- this was about four or five years ago at the very beginning of the trend. We ended up putting four bistro type chairs on our screened porch that are all weather aluminum but look remarkably like rattan, which I got as a close out from a furniture supply company for practically the cost of the shipping! And the ability to take a hosing and not lose your stomach for continued renovation seems to be a required trait in a homeowner :-)...See MoreOutdoor decor
Comments (45)LOL, KSWL, I bet you cannot believe that I own such colorful towels! I really liked the print pillow because it is different, and because I think seeing beautiful MCM projects like Pipdog's and now Rockybird's has swayed me toward MCM. I had it saved on my ipad as an image but I could not recall the source; i just found them here on Houzz. Funny i have never bought from Houzz before (and that was not where I first saw them). I get you on the knots! Robo, The wicker set is funny. In some light it looks almost honey, it others is if very much grey. Look at this shot form the mfrs site below. THe DR chairs look diff than the seating, and even among the seating, the two chairs look quite different. I saw it in person and it is most like the chair on the bottom left seating photo....See MoreDining room tweaks and a question
Comments (96)Yeah, i totally get that Kitch, no worries. That was why I didn't spend a lot. I do not love it in and of itself, but I think it might look good in that spot. I love the Leopards but the design on the doors would be visible behind them so I think it would ruin the look. In the pic, they are also flanked by brass andirons which also adds to the look. Plus of course they are $800 for a set of cardboard cutouts and I've no idea where to use them in the future. Not to mention, I can just imagine a stager/realtor walking in the room and saying "well, let's put away the goofy leopards first," can't you?...See Moremtnrdredux_gw
