Possible to Hang Metal Art on Stone Backsplash Without Nails?
Comments (31)Thanks all. The caddy is too wide for the window sill, however, I do like the table idea along with a runner. I have no idea whether or not the pots have drainage holes. As for our cabinets, we purchased them from a custom cabinetry place, and the paint is their stock antique white, glazed with a warm, deep brown. I don't know the actual colors. I was worried I might not like them because they're not the really bright white, but I shouldn't have concerned myself, as I just love them now. They're so warm and inviting to look at. Comments (5)Thanks to both of you. The keyhole could be put there ? Right now on the back (raw) top or side,(I'm not sure which it is. It has 2 tiny holes as if they are marking where screws should go if it were being installed from the inside toward it. The other back or top side has 2 elongated oval holes. No doubt for some kind of hardware. They are like a stretched out 'dime' for lack of a better way to say it. None of this goes through to the front of the wood. Obviously this was to be installed prior to the bar top going on. Hmmm, they came from the cabinet mfg. and maybe they actually belong to a cabinet setup but none of my cabinets would need them or look better with them. The Titebond has me curious because I was reading about it on the web. I never thought about epoxy for the drywall. I never opened the plastic seal. I am going to do that to see if there is any directions or paper tucked in there. There isn't any hardware because the pieces are tight together. I found the web page with the cabinets I have. The corbel I have isn't there but it is very plain and similar to the 4th one down on the right side called Victorian Plain. Mine is just a tad not so plain. Comments (24)It is nutty to think that panel adhesive will stop or even mitigate nail pops. When I went to college every engineering student had to take a first year materials science class. I think it was around day three that we covered independent movement of materials. There are basically only two solutions - bonding and isolation. I can't tell you when we figured this out, but it was a few thousand years ago. Glue is a much much superior bonding method than mechanical fasteners in this case. I am not saying that gluing drywall will mitigate the problem, I am saying that the forces that cause nail pops can't physically exist when drywall is properly glued to studs. You may have other problems, but nail pops will absolutely not be one. Important note: I am not really advocating gluing drywall - one of the best things about drywall as a wall system is the ability to easily remove and replace drywall...gluing makes that a whole lot harder....See Morelindag4016
