Maybe I was generous. At 10 FPS, inch and a half pipe will do between 60 and 65 GPM. Todays recommended maximum FPS is 10 on the return and 8 on the suction. These numbers are based on safety and friction loss.You can push higher volumes of water through but your friction loss will increase very quickly. A 1.5 HP Super Pump will exceed these velocities. If I was generous, the reduced flow numbers would dictate an even longer run time for his pump, increase his power consumption, shorten his motor life, etc... only adds to the benefit of having the high efficiency motor of an Intelliflo with it's ability to be dialed down to both reduce power consumption and reduce friction loss by running slower.

I have worked on many of both builders pools. The only thing that ever bugged me about East Coast was the tendency to tie drains to skimmers. Run them individually to the equipment pad and plumb the drain so it can send heated water to the bottom. After that, dead heat. Both have skill sets that are similar enough but can do different things with their designs better than the other. Both have built some absolutely amazing pools in my area. It's always a pleasure working on them vs. some of the basic stuff. Overall feedback I have heard from my customers have been pretty positive. Sometimes, E.C. seems a bit slower in progressing. If I was building in my back yard, I would use Scott because I have known him for some time and know I can trust his judgment in the areas I'm not qualified to make and not worry, and his sense of urgency to get things done. @3onthetree You are making a great point. I do really appreciate it. The allowed ADU is 1200 square feet. It was 800 SF, but changed to 1200 SF in year 2020 This will be build as garage with one bathroom (1/2 bathroom), utility sink and windows . In the future ,it could be converted to living space. If it ever get converted to ADU, no stranger will live there. I am not planning to rent it for income, like what is happening right now in Los Angeles. If it does not get converted, it will stay as a garage. If it get converted, it will family only. This garage is 40 feet from the house. I thought about this way. If the max allowed is 1200 SF, why not building max size right now, because the cost between 800 and 1200 is not that much. Best installer in North Florida. Well known. He installs in million-dollar houses. He just installed an incredible floor in a sick house in the Bahamas, he has the pictures on Instagram. I got lucky a person canceled, he is booked until October. In this Covid situation for remodeling, zero problems to pay in advance. All the good installers are booked for months. As for the floor, I paid 13$/sqf plus shipping for Rift and Quartered, select, 8" wide, Bona finish, 4mm wear layer. If you find a cheaper white oak not coming from oversea then I give you a $100 gift card. As for a the install, I got 4 quotes, the cheaper was 22k, from a guy who looked so clumsy I would not even allow him to water my plants. Only plywood cost is 4k of material to get the wood subfloor level to the concrete slab in the addition. Glue is expensive. The house description with pics is linked above in the original post.
