cost of sanded grout
Comments (5)well, that's good to know I did good.. now I have to get busy and use it up, so I can get more..lol seems they may have it on the shelf, regularly though. the tiles I got, were for little practice studies for the china painting.. we use the cheap tiles for practice, so the porcelain ones can be done with more precision.. it's a heartbreak, to open a kiln, to find a piece of china, cracked or broken ....however, I personally have never seen a piece come out of the kiln that way. our mentor has very high success rate with her firings. and I know what you mean, about the stores like that having fun things in there.. the glass door knobs, keyholes, all metal, odds and ends.. keys in all shapes and sizes..dozens of doors.. things in the glass cases are full of doo dads, that can be incorporated into mosaics.....See MoreSubway Tile - What grout size and did you go Epoxy ?
Comments (30)Chef: I like the darker one in the bottom picture. Splinky: Our tile was made by Subway Ceramics. They do not sell directly to the public, but they will sell directly to a decorator. Our decorator handled the order, but did not add a surcharge. We paid just over $15/sf. They will also send a decorator a set of tile samples to match color. I believe that we matched the best of 4 different whites, which was a perfect match. They also sell through a small number of retailers. Below is a link to a blog by a DIY'er who tiled a bathroom with SC tiles. I learned a lot from it! (Even my tile-setter, who was very good, had never thought of shuffling the tiles among the boxes.) As I said in an earlier post in this topic, my grout was Tec, and the color was Dove Gray. Comments (10)Patricia Colwell - what are you talking about? When would a stainless steel tile backsplash be part of a Tuscan kitchen? And the backsplash look that is dated is when the backsplash behind the range has a medallion, or tiled square with a different pattern inside it. That is not what the OP is doing. Stainless steel tiles behind the cooktop is both current and practical. To the OP - do not listen to Patricia Colwell. She is not providing advice. OP - given the size of your tiles, they ought to come on a mesh. Light gray un-sanded grout is what you need, but there are so many "light grays". I would ask your tile store about which light gray grout they recommend, since they can see it IRL, and are familiar with its installation. Also, your tile installer needs to be careful if he has to cut any to fit. Because the stainless steel edges will be sharp, they will need to be filed smooth....See MoreI’m going mad trying to choose a grout color
Comments (6)I agree with @Jennifer Svensson. I would not want to emphasize grout lines on those large wall tiles so I’d match the white of the tile as close as possible. Same for floor - I’d match the mid gray as close as possible. With the floor tile, you can see from the piece laid out what darker grout would look like - the shadows are dark....See MoreA Mat
