Need help with countertops!
I need advice/feedback/ help on choosing a countertop for our new kitchen.
Main cabinets are white (a warm white), island & bar are a dark espresso. Open concept home with dark (but lighter than the island) hardwood floors. Appliances are stainless steel. Walls throughout are SW Drift of Mist. Our metals are brushed nickel, matte black & brass/bronze.
We originally were going to go with Ishnala by TRENDS but when the cabinets were installed & we looked at in the space the white background of the Ishnala brought out a yellow tinge to the white cabinets that we do not like. We know we are going with Cambria Quartz. We have it narrowed down to the new Annaleigh, Colton, and Windermere. If I can figure out how to post links to them I will.
The Windermere looks dark in the Cambria site pics, but we’ve seen pics of it installed and it looks much lighter.
I am including pics of our kitchen. We are still under construction (doing it ourselves) so I apologize for the incomplete canvas.

Comments (15)I personally do like stainless steel in a different setting, but it wouldn't fit with the style we're going for. My Dad named it "Wood and Fabric," but I tried to get him to explain his preferences more and we settled on "Rocky mountain ski lodge, but not too dark." I told him he invented a style name. A lot of the houses in their neighborhood have really dark kitchens with dark stained cabinets and black counters. None of us like that look. Comments (2)Just a first thought - Depending on the fabricators around your area, you may not be able to choose what you want. Many of the fabricators by me do not stock quartz tops, so they won't bring in a whole slab to cut a small countertop. Check with your local yards and see if they will do that or if you will need to shop for remnants. Personally, I like things to look different. Your wall color is different and so is the floor. Comments (12)I didn’t have my samples with me :/ made a trip to Costco and stopped at a stone supplier nearby haha. I honestly would love a white countertop, but I can’t find a quartzite that has a uniform, consistent white color without a busy pattern. There are a few “quartzite” I liked but they were so obviously marble. That leaves me with white quartz but I can’t get over the fake, plasticy marble imitation look. Here are a couple other quartzite that I think would look nice. Can’t find much info on Houzz about them, seems like this supplier makes up their own names. 13 days agoFor reference here are the pics of the Windermere installed that I found here on HOUZZ. The Windermere countertop in these photos looks much lighter than it does on the Cambria website.
