That looks very nice. Getting rid of the shutters was a great idea. I like your new house numbers, but might move the tall grasses to the other side of the tree since they appear (from the angle in the photo at least) to block the house numbers. Then, vary plant heights in the garden across the front. I imagine you are really enjoying the change!

Will do!! Thank you so so much for the advice! Working on the bed this weekend. That blue with orange colored brick before was definitely outdated haha

its hard to see the detail in the photo, but the bottom part on each side are 2 left over sheets of white faux cedar shake shingles, giving it a little more texture and changing things up a bit. We had just 2 pieces left over so it worked here perfectly to be able to use them up in a creative way.

@littlebug zone 5 Missouri I just painted the new shutters. Though I really don’t care for the yellow siding we don’t have a ton on $$ to spend on the house just having twins and going to one income so the mint & yellow combination stuck out the most to me & this all only costs me a couple hundred dollars and was something I felt comfortable DIY-ing (which I wouldnt feel painting siding).

Paint exterior before or after moving in?

Be sure to sample colors on all four sides of the house before committing to the color. The color will look different on the different sides. Have the painters put up big swatches and pay attention to how it looks with your roof color. Daylight tends to wash out colors so you may want to choose something that looks too dark on a chip. Ask the painting contractor which brand they like to use and choose a color only from that brand. Color matching between brands is approximate, not 100%.

Agree, grasses should go as they are distracting

Worried that the tree has been planted too close to the house. You could do more with it if you bring it up and over toward the driveway; then under plant it.
