Where Do I Find A Double Front Door?
Comments (2)I was at a auction and found two 8' x 3' door slabs made of ash with glass in the center . I really loved the doors and they went pretty cheap so I bought them . My carpenter was able to make the door frame and put them together to make a double front door and I am really happy with them . I didn't add a transom because they were already very tall doors but that would have been a simple addition . Good Luck...See MoreI need help right away! Do I match the color of my new front door
Comments (4)I had a faux finish on the interior of my door and hated it. Made the interior of the entrance dark and drab. What a difference a paint of coat made on it. I have all stained wood and hardwood. I repainted the interior of my front door just one shade lighter than the walls....See MoreWhere do I place knobs???
Comments (5)You're welcome! I agree with canobeans! We had smaller double doors for my laundry room, and for some reason, door knobs were not installed on the inside of doors. I added small brass knobs to the center inside of the walk-in laundry room doors. Closing the doors was difficult with the knobs in the center....See MoreHelp - where do I place my tv/entertainment cetner
Comments (3)My in-laws have a similar room layout to yours. Where your bar area is they have a built in entertainment center. The TV is on a stand that pulls out and swivels if they want to make it accessible to many viewers. There aren't doors in front of the TV to close it off while not in use, but there are glass front doors where the components are. They aren't big TV watchers, so this works for them. My son has a huge projection TV screen mounted to the ceiling in front of his fireplace and they just lower the screen (remote control) when they want to watch TV, but have it up most of the day. You don't even notice it up there on the ceiling and they can still use the fireplace with the screen down as it doesn't come down enough to block the fireplace. For this set up, you would have to have suitable spots for the projector and sound components. That's a super sweet set up, esp. if you're into movies. We love watching movies at his place. Also, you need to have blackout shades on the windows if you watch TV in the day. I like the concept of a small sitting area in the vicinity of the fireplace and another one facing the opposite wall-if you decide to put your TV opposite the fireplace. Wherever you place your system, it might be useful to have easy to move furniture, so if you have a big group conversing, playing games, watching TV, you can easily pick up and move your furniture to accommodate everyone. Very pretty room....See Morerach7949
