Bad tasting refrigerator water
Comments (10)I think it's the filter inside the fridge is acting up. The fridge I have is a Kenmore 36", the water tastes bad also, I only get ice from it. I didn't bother calling the store or the manufacture since I already have a sink filter which works great. But I have drank several people's fridge water, none of them tastes good like the sink filtered water I have. You should call the store first and say the water tastes VERY BAD, don't tell them it doesn't tastes good like my sink filtered water, they will come up with all the BS to get you away. Good Luck...See MoreInline Valve for Refrigerator Ice Maker
Comments (4)First of all, the water entering your refrigerator is metered by a solenoid operated needle valve, and that valve is certified to work correctly at the maximum allowable water pressure of 85psi. There are no "issues" with the ice maker than can be resolved by reducing the line pressure. Second, a ball valve is not a throttling valve and it would not reduced the pressure. Perhaps if you can tell us what your issue is we can advise you of the correct method of fixing it....See MoreNew faucet water tastes weird
Comments (17)Langlay Skye- China is the source of a lot of cheap stuff, but also can produce quality stuff totally on a par with or better than some quality “made in USA“ products. But even faucets that are high quality can contain lead in the brass castings which you wouldn’t be able to taste. And high quality faucets, regardless of where they come from, may need to use rubber, nylon, or plastic for seals. So it’s complicated. In all seriousness, maybe you are one of those people who are “super tasters” and are more sensitive to things like this than the average person. Have you ever considered getting a test kit to see if it picks up anything? Comments (7)Eeewwww, Legionnaires disease! That is scary. I'm hoping for something more likely, but I will keep that possibility in the back of my mind. It's a U-Line BI1215, which creates crescent shaped ice "cubes." It's brand new so I was instructed to toss the first several batches. We are waaayyy beyond the first few batches, four days of batches to be honest. I'd expect the newness to be gone, wouldn't you? I am not using it since it smells and tastes so icky. My best description is a strong plastic-y smell and taste. (I haven't swallowed any, just tasted melted "cubes") It was connected using a braided water line supply kit, hooked to my sink water line. I called U-Line and spoke with a person who suggested putting vinegar in the ice tray and then trying the Ice Machine Cleaning packet if the vinegar doesn't work. I tried the vinegar and now the ice is really gross. I will have to wait for the cleaner to arrive. Until then, has anyone else had a similar problem? What was the cause? And the solution? Thank goodness my fridge icemaker still works. It's a typical blisteringly hot summer here....See MoreRick Page
