Thoughts on front door privacy solution
Comments (131)Ghostly vision, I used gallery glass crystal clear and leading strips as well as the liquid lead. It was super easy. Just google it and you will see some very easy tutorials. I am super sloppy. If I can do it, anyone can!...See MoreHelp! Treatment for Arched window over the front door
Comments (2)You can get drapes made up for that window, but 98% of the time this windows are left open. The whole idea of this type of a window is to display the chandelier and the staircase... Unless of course, someone likes to run around naked in that case you would cover that up because I doubt someone would be parked in front of the house and wait for someone to cross the hallway. In my development, everyone has this windows and none of them are covered....See MoreTreatment for arched bathroom window over front door
Comments (7)A top down / bottom up shade might work actually....I have to look at it today with that in mind. All of the other windows have cellular blinds which are older and worn out and some are non-functioning or poorly functioning and one window definitely doesn't have a blind at all. I don't really like the idea of frosted film simply because we actually like to look out that window to check weather or look for daddy doing yard work or the neighborhood cat, etc. I feel like it would be a major loss if the window was obscured all the time. I agree that maybe painting the shutters white would look better. There is a lot of natural mid to dark wood throughout the house so its safe to say the previous owner really liked that look. We tend to go for lighter, brighter neutral with pops of color. I honestly had no idea about an ornamental leaded design......but I could see that possibly working after I searched some ideas. And yes, that is the stupidest place to put a bathroom. I have no idea what they were thinking. I think it would make a nice little office though, looking out on the front yard. I'd put built in shelves on the back wall so that's all you'd see when you looked in the window from the street....See MorePLEASE HELP! Dormers or arch over front door with a front car garage?
Comments (29)#3. All brick with siding under porch. Get rid of faux stone accents on corners at foundation. Do not pay extra for those. They are awful. If you have to have stone, only do it along the base of the foundation. Paint the garage doors as close to the color of the brick that you select to remove emphasis of huge garage doors. There is no hiding them, but you don't want them to be the focal point. Why #3? It has the most simple elevation and avoids most of the McMansion from Hell elements. That's why. If it were me, I'd do all brick. Then, I'd paint the brick and garage door the same color....See Moremonzkale
